Sounds ambitious, doesn't it? Good thing I'm just a little guy, a little guy reading one "zine" every day in 2024, with the goal of reading through my entire hoard of stuff.
I say “zine” because my collection includes some things that aren’t technically zines, including comics magazines, a few random traditional mags, newspapers, broadsides, chapbooks, microchaps, litmags, minicomics, digital zines, and a bunch of other ephemera. My goal with this is to make it through my collection while also sharing and highlighting my favorite zines and zinesters, so I’m keeping it real loosey goosey here. Do not @ me about whether what I'm reading counts as a zine in your book, this is my book and my silly little rules.
Because I want to keep series together, I'm reading alphabetically by title with the exception of any zines I get after November 2023, which will be added at the end.
Below are the zines I’ve read so far. I’ll be updating this list whenever I feel like it, but also sharing daily to Bluesky and my Instagram stories if you’d like to follow along there. I'm kind of tracking them on Storygraph as well-- I don't want to flood the platform with things that aren't technically books, but about 170 of the zines I'm planning on reading this year are already on Storygraph. While I won't be adding anything new from this challenge, if it's already on there you bet I'm counting it...which is why my reading goal this year jumped from 50 to 200.
